Steven Waugh on Sachin Tendulkar

He is getting older day by day,But Sachin Tendulkar is getting better with every passing day, former Australia captain Steve Waugh said.

Sachin is improving every passing day and with prime form and Looking at the way Tendulkar is playing,it seems he can play till 50 years." Steve Waugh had earlier compared Tendulkar with Sir Don Bradman.

On Coaching interest, the Australian great say he is not thinking about coaching now...Maybe in future,I will think about coaching.

Waugh also praised India's South African coach Gary Kirsten's way of work while describing the jobs of a captain and a coach.

The captain is always the boss on the field, as he has to be on the spot. The coach on the other hand plays a supporter's role quietly. Look at Kirsten. He goes on about his job very quietly which is exactly the coach's role. S Waugh termed Indians as favorites to defend the title in the second edition of the ICC World Twenty20 due in England in June.

Indians have a very good side. The youngsters are really impressing and the IPL has done good for them.

"But Australians also have a strong chance for the title," he said.

Sachin Tendulkar Switches to Adidas Bat

Sachin Tendulkar Switches to Adidas Bat

Sachin is all set to start new innings with his cricket bat. Sachin would be seen with a bat with different logo. No more MRF.

The news is that Sachin will bat with Adidas logo, as sachin tendulkar has been brand ambassador for Adidas products and now that Adidas has entered the sports market in bat segment and would be manufacturing bat along with Gloves, Pad and other cricket accessories.

I am just waiting for triangular series to start where Sachin will be seen with an Adidas bat.

Indian Captain MSD on Sachin Tendulkar's Brilliant knock

India captain MS Dhoni took the positives from the heart-breaking 3-run loss and said without masters brilliant 175 knock( 141-ball), which was studded with 19 fours and four sixes. It would not have been possible to come so close to the massive 351 run mark set by Australia.

Sachin Tendulkar played very well and he was one man who brought us close to a win. But even after he left we did not lose hopes till the end," said Dhoni.
Dhoni said though this was a special innings from the champion batsman, his personal favorite was the Desert Storm in Sharjah against Australia in April 1998.

"It was a pleasure to see him batting so well. All his centuries have been special and this too. But I am still a big fan of his desert storm (innings)," he said.

"We lost the mental aspect and not the cricketing part of the match. Chasing 350 was always going to be difficult even on this wicket which played very well," he said after India lost a heart-stopper to Australia to give the visitors a 2-3 lead in the seven-match series.

From now on "Every game is a pressure game. There will always be pressure," he said.

Sachin Tendulkar praised by Cricket fraternity

Cricket fraternity lavished praise on worlds cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar for becoming the first player in the game's history to cross the 17,000-run mark. when he played an on-drive to fetch three off pacer Ben Hilfenhaus during the fifth ODI in Hyderabad.

It's really a remarkable achievement. He is one of the best cricketers of the world cricket.
I have had some good memories with him, having partnering him for years in one-day cricket, said former India skipper Sourav Ganguly.

Sachin has played for 20 odd years and I think, it's wonderful task by a man who has achieved so much. I congratulate him,South Africa cricketer Herchelle Gibbs.

It's a great achievement. Anyone playing for 21 years is not an easy job, we are proud of him,
said India all-rounder Rohit Sharma.

He has achieved several records. I hope that he reached 20,000-run mark. Whatever he has achieved, it is nearly impossible to achieve for anyone else. I just wish that he keeps ongoing and gets more and more runs for India, Wasim Jaffer

Tribute to Master Sachin Tendulkar

Tribute to Master Sachin Tendulkar

Cricket fraternities paying tribute to Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar for completing 20 years in international cricket:

It can be said that he is the Bradman of our times and I do feel privileged to have played a lot of cricket against him. - Former Australian captain Steve Waugh.

I think, apart from Sir Garfield Sobers nobody else has played 20 years in international cricket and 20 years playing at the very highest level and to the very highest standard is an achievement beyond compare. - Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar.

He continues to give more than 100 per cent and his schoolboy-like enthusiasm for the game is something I envy and admire. For the team he is the best available coaching manual. - Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

There will never be another Sachin Tendulkar. - Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan.

The way he has taken on the role of India's greatest sporting ambassador... He has, among other things, inspired a generation and more to play cricket. - India's 1983 World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev.

His humbleness and simplicity has helped him to achieve what others could not. His dedication is one of the main reasons for his achievements and he is role model to up and coming youngsters. In India every youngster who is in to school or college cricket wants to become a Sachin. - Former captain and Chairman of India's selection panel Kris Srikkanth.

What I admire about Sachin is his humility, respect for elders and the passion for the game that he has retained even after so many years and after achieving so much in cricket. He has not changed at all. - Former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar.

He is a great human being, a great player and I have been very lucky to have a friend like Sachin Tendulkar. I want to wish him all the luck. I want to congratulate him for finishing his 20 years in international cricket. He has dominated world cricket for 20 years and I hope that he will continue to dominate it. - Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh.

I have delayed my shoots many times to watch Sachin bat - Filmstar Amitabh Bachchan.

When he is in full flow, the mild-mannered boyish cricketer can look extremely intimidating. If there is a resonance, I find of myself in his batting, it is in that intent that he communicates. - Former West Indies captain and batting great Vivian Richards.

Over the years Sachin has remained remarkably consistent and has more records than anybody I can remember. His talent and versatility are unquestioned which is why the only question that rankles is why he did not win enough games for his team? - Former Pakistan captain Imran Khan.

His biggest strength as a batsman is his adaptability. And that is something really. really amazing, something so special. - Former India captain Sourav Ganguly.

In his life cricket comes first. When he is on tour he is thinking about nothing but cricket, and when he is not on tour he dedicates quality time to his family. That shows his dedication to the game and to his family. He has found the right balance. - Tendulkar's India teammate and opening partner Virender Sehwag.

He loves cricket and with his hardwork, focus and commitment he has truly become a outstanding ambassador for the sport at a time when commercialism is so rampant. - Former Pakistan captain and coach Javed Miandad.

I think Tendulkar has outdone all the other greats with his hunger for the game which is amazing. - Former Pakistan leg-spinner Abdul Qadir.

What has impressed me the most about Tendulkar all these years is his humble and simple nature. I never saw him ever let the fame and adulation he enjoys get to his head. - Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul Haq.

I don't watch cricket much but I admire Sachin Tendulkar. I like the way he has conducted himself over the years. He has been such a huge star for so long but has not had a single controversy against his name. - Olympic bronze medallist boxer Vijender Singh.

The best thing about Sachin Tendulkar is that he's completely rooted, down to earth, and a thorough gentleman. He's probably the best thing to have happened to Indian cricket and maybe Indian sport as a whole. - Indian tennis star Sania Mirza.

I see him continuing until more landmarks like 50 hundreds. 100 centuries is not difficult for him because the passion for the game is still very much there even after 20 years," - former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif.

Hurray - Sachin crosses 30,000 runs & scores his 43rd Ton

The celebrations are never over in the masters career, We all know that, don't we. With the 20 year party just getting over the master leapt into another record today by being the first person to cross 30k international runs.

The day 5 of the first test between India and Srilanka started off with lankans licking their lips to see if they can pick up a few wickets and plug themselves fully into the game.

But a cool gambhir and experienced sachin tendulkar got a ton each to make sure that India drew the match and gave no chance to the lankans.

Below is the master's run split up adding to the total of 30000 runs.
12877 in 160 tests + 17178 in 436 ODI's + 10 runs in 1 T20.

Tendulkar most powerful personality in Indian sports

It is our Master - Sachin Tendulkar who is undisputed champion of champions. Who leads the chart followed by Lalit Modi, in the Illustrated list of the 50 most powerful and influential people in Indian sports is out and there is no surprise as to who tops the list Bangalore Royal Challengers and Force India owner Vijay Mallya sits pretty at the third spot.

The Indian captain and poster boy of Indian cricket, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, notched the fifth spot while the President of the Indian Olympic Association Suresh Kalmadi was ranked 12th.

The surprise package was Kings XI Punjab co-owner Priety Zinta who took the 23rd place as compared to Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza at number 50.

Mumbai Indians storm hit over Delhi DareDevils

Mumbai Indians storm hit over Delhi DareDevils

Mumbai Indians secure a 98-run win over the Delhi Daredevils in their 2nd match of IPL-3 clash.

After half-centuries by Sachin Tendulkar and Saurabh Tiwary scored 63 and 61 respectively as Mumbai Indians marked 218/7 by end of their innings, the highest total so far in this year's IPL.

Tendulkar and Jayasuriya gave the visitors a good start with an opening stand of 38 runs after being put in to bat first. Aditya Tare joined Tendulkar but did not last long and unfazed by the falling wickets, the Mumbai skipper continued to score at a quick pace and completed his half-century in 23 balls.

Delhi never really got going in response as Dwayne Bravo, Harbhajan Singh and Sanath Jayasuriya claimed two wickets apiece to help restrict them to just 120.

Post match presentation -

Tendulkar: So far so good, the batting from Tiwary and Rayudu has been special. Everyone has chipped in and it's working out well for us. My body is coping up well and I am pacing myself well but I do need rest at some point of time. We have a terrific blend of seniors and world class younger players and I am enjoying leading this side.

Greatest Cricketer Ever on the Planet !

Who’s the greatest cricketer ever to play cricket?
This debate has been around ever since cricket was invented.  But this debate becomes a street-talk when a new cricket star is born and when a cricketer takes the cricket world by storm.
Every era had its own legendary cricketer. But last few eras of the modern cricket chapter had one undisputed legend, Sir Don Bradman.  Don was the greatest batsman, any cricket expert would ever think of, with an enviable Test average of 99!(In his last Test innings Bradman got out for duck. At least a four in his last inning would have taken his average to 100!) But the entry of Sachin Tendulkar brought back the greatest cricketer debate.  There were few more batsmen in Sachin’s era who also staked their claim for the coveted position.  Stylish Caribbean left hand batsman Brian Lara and consistent and competitive Australian Ricky Ponting. Both of them played during the same era as Sachin and both played cricket like Sachin did, fierce, forceful and completely natural game.
Brian Lara had a great style which was more like poetry. His strokes were sublime and pleasure to watch. And no match was over till Brian Lara was at the crease. He would bat with tail enders to form a huge partnerships and take the West Indies team to victories. He was the most-feared batsman of his era. On the other hand, the Aussie Ricky Ponting, who is also called ‘punter’ is never-say-die cricketer who would take away matches from opponents. He was consistent, was fluent on his day and would lead his side by example.
What makes Sachin Tendulkar so different from these two cricketers is his Indian roots. He belongs to a cricket team, where every batsman would look up to Sachin to perform and take charge of the batting burden. He belongs to a nation where millions of cricket fans would expect him to score a century every time and all the time. Every time he takes batting guard, there’s a huge burden already waiting for him at the crease. And he hails from a nation which produced a great cricketer like Sunil Gavaskar, who had an iconic stature in India’s cricket history. Not to forget , he has also been a big reason for today’s massive interest in cricket betting.
For the last two decades, Sachin has been successful in growing as a greatest batsman in spite of all the expectations.  He not only became India’s greatest batsman surpassing Sunil Gavaskar, but managed to become the greatest batsman of the modern era. Sachin is a natural and impulsive batsman. Legend has it that he has got half a dozen shots in his armor for each delivery! He could destroy any bowling attack on  any pitch. And to top it all, he’s got the best compliment from the greatest cricketer, Don Bradman himself.
After watching Sachin Tendulkar playing on tv, Sir Don Bradman told his wife that Sachin reminded him of his own style of batting during his best days. That compliment decides the debate in Sachin Tendulkar’s favour, though there will be cricket pundits who still want to keep the debate alive. But when you glance at his cricket records, his cricket career and his passion for the game you realize that being a legend is not just about playing good cricket. It’s also about creating more passionate followers, it’s also about making the game proud.  Sachin did that in style and closed the debate forever!     Content partner - Punters Realm
